Purpose: The purpose of the Diversity & Inclusion Fund (DIF) is to expand and enrich LCWS’s learning community by recognizing and supporting outstanding students from various cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, with diverse talents, interests, and life experiences.
Eligibility requirements:
• Student remains enrolled in good standing,
• Family completes Indexed Tuition application,
• International students are not eligible for this scholarship,
• Application must be complete.
Selection Criteria: The scholarship is awarded to students who best exemplify the purpose of the DIF. Priority for the DIF scholarship is given to students with high financial need and a long-term commitment to Waldorf education, enrolling in grade 6 or higher, although applicants to any class are eligible.
Each applicant is evaluated in terms of first having a complete application and bringing diversity to the LCWS community. Students are also evaluated on academic achievement, community participation, and leadership potential; however, no one factor determines the outcome of an application.
For the purposes of the DIF, we consider diversity across one or more of the following seven categories: culture and language; religion; family structure; economic class; gender identity and expression; racial identity; differing abilities.
